DOMESTIC WORKERS.
While discrediting the idea that the individual girl at present need meet with hardships or humiliations, there can be no doubt that a radical change is needed in our ideas as to the value and dignity of domestic labour, says the "Southland Times." If domestic service is to be popular, and if those engaging in it are to be capable and trustworthy, the degree of social consideration, attaching to it must be equal to that accorded to the hospital nurse, the female clerk, or the teacher.
