CORRESPONDENCE.
A COMPLAINT.
(To the Editcr). Sir,—l notice that the police are taking proceedings against cyclists for riding after dark without lights, but while busy on the trail of the offending cyclist, they are overlooking a nuisance that is a far more serious danger to the community, viz., the man who drives a vehicle without a light after dark. This practice should be put a stop to before an accident, attended with probablv serious consequences, occurs. As an illustration, I may remark that I was cycling home this evening when two vehicles, both on the wrong side of the road, and neither carrying lights, and driven at a smart pace, nearly ran me down—in fact, I only escaped collision with one vehicle through jumping smartly off my bicycle. Now, Sir, I have heard of several similar cases in which accidents have been narrowly averted, and 1 certainly think it is [time that an example was made of some of these offenders.—l am, etc., CYCLIST.
