NATIONAL DEFENCE MOVEMENT.
As most of our readers are, no doubt, aware Mr R. McNab has commenced a campaign in support of universal training, which he will continue for some weeks prior to leaving for England. Through the courtesy of Mr H. M. Boddington-, Secretary of the local Branch of the National League of New Zealand, we are glad to be able to announce that Mr McNab will speak at Masterton on Tuesday, June Ist. Apart from the intense importance of the question at issue, the characteristic energy with which Mr McNab has entered into his campaign, as well a» his reputation as a public speaker, should ensure a large and representative audience. The question of defence is at the present time attracting earnest attention throughout the Dominion, and we have no doubt that the residents of the Wairarapa are as deeply interested in the movement as any other portion. We trust that Mr iVcNab will be greeted with a "bumper" house — the occasion deircanda nothing less.
