Mrs T. Fisher, a well-known resident of Greytown, is seriouslv 111. Mr J. B. MacEwan, of Wellington, has left for Auckland, en route to England, via Vancouver. The Plon. James Holmes and. James Marshall, M.L.C.'s, have been re-appointed as members of the Legislative Council. The Mother Provincial and Mother Stanislaus, from Australia, who have been visiting St. Bride's Convent.left for Pahiatua yesterday on a visit to the branch of the Convent. Mr Thomas Cook, the well-known violinist, and secretary of the Wellington Orchestral Society, will leave shortly for England, where he will stay for two or three years, and take lessons from one of the best masters.
