TENUI NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). TEND I, May 10. A "meet" of the Wairarapa Hunt Club was held at Blairlogie on May Bth inst. The weather was perfect and thirteen huntsmen followed the hounds, there being only two spills. The ladies provided afternoon tea, a kindness that they were heartily cheered for. Mr Rupert Morrison was congratulated on providing such an ideal hunting ground, and in reply, said that he would be pleased to see the huntsmen all present again, and that*they would all tumble into the water jump. (Laughter.) The following took part in the "meet":-Messrs C. F. Vallance on "Rata," H. Welch, huntsman, on "Little Wonder" A. Schofielcl, on "All Black," Jas. Smith on "Grey Dawn," J. O'Brien on "Surprise," T. O'Dwyc-r on "Gunmetal," R. Morrison on "Jerr," J. Hutcheson on "Bones," J. Bunny on "Prospector," D. Munro nn "Moonlight," J. l)ouglas on "Robin," H. McGuchin on "Aohanga," J. Hudson on "Mischief." The Foresters held a church parade on the 9th inst, Bro. A. J. Speedy, P.D.C.R.,. being in charge. A most impressive sermon was proached by i the Rev. J. Phillips, there being a large congregation. Mr T. Crawford, who has been in business here or several years intends leaving shortly in order to reside in Masterton. Both Mr and Mrs Crawford have become very popular hero, and, general regret is expressed at their departure.
