SATISFACTION AT SUCCESS. Received May 12, 9.45 p.m. LONDON, May 12. It is officially announced that the subscriptions to the Victorian loan totalled two and a-half millions. Applicants received 60 per cent, of the amount applied for. There is great satisfaction in the city over the success of the Victorian loan after the comparative failure of recent Australian issues. The Victorian loan of £1,500,000, at 3 1, per cent., was twice covered. The list closed a day earlier than advertised, at £9B ss.
