A determined effort to solve the serv ant girl problem is being made by housewives of New Zealand in the direction of petitioning Parliament to encourage the immigration of domestic servants by issuing free pasages to suitabla applicants. The petition was originated at Christchurch, and has now bean taken in hand by a large number of prominent ladies in Auckland, with the result that signatures are being freely attached.
