AN IMPROVING OUTLOOK.
From inquiries made yesterday it is pleasing to learn that there is a fairly widespread concensus of opinion among Masterton business men that tratie generally is showing a slight tendency to improve, whilst it is anticipated a substantial improvement will become evident before many months have passed. Wool | prices, which are -of the highest importance to Wairarapa towns, are more satisfactory than those realised lor the previous season's clip, and the splendid \weather which farmers have enjoyed for a considerable time past, must exercise inevitably a beneficial '[effect iq commercial circles. The depression, which is now passing away from the Dominion, was very widespread indeed, almost universal in fact, and Masterton has exhibited a somewhat surprising degree of stability. Future prospects seem to be fairly bright, and town and country may now be mutually congratulatory upon'the fact that the sharp and unexpected period of depression is nearing the end
