; [ l (From Our Resident Reporter). Friday. ' The Pahiatua County Council will meet at the Council Chambers at 11 o'clock this morning. The takings at the Fancy Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday last /amounted to over £BO. The ordinary monthly meeting of the t'ahiatua Borough Council will be held on Monday evening next in the Borough Council Chambers, and the Hospital Trustees meet in the same place on Tuesday evening. A very successful social in aid oE the Konini Hall Funds was held at Konini on Wednesday evening. The cheese factory at Woodville is , already nearly completed, and when finished the building will be similar to the cheese factory in Mangatainoka. On Wednesday last the town of Woodville put 45 footballers in the field. Pahiatua would do well xo take a lesson from its next door neighbour, and it is to be hoped tha a full team will turn up for the match on the Recreation Ground to-mor-

row. There is a likelihood of the Governor being present at the opening of the Lower Gorge bridge. The milk supply at the various factories and creameries in this district is[diminishing. In the majority of the districts, however, there is still a good supply of feed, and milking cows are in splendid condition.' Among the large number of .gentlemen nominat3d for the cqmmittee of the Pahiatua-Akitio A. and P. Society are some practical men with past experience and a committee of 12of these men should bring the first Show to a successful issue. A meeting of the Bush Rugby Union will be held at Hamua tonight (Saturday). One importantquestion to be discussed will be the removing of the headquarters of the Union either to Pahiatua or Hukanui. Messrs Dalgety and Co. and Abraham and Williams add fresh entries for their stock sales in the Mangahao road yards on Tuesday next.
