BROKEN HILL RIOTS.
A SOCIALIST SENTENCED.TWO YEASR IMPRISONMENT. Received May 7, 12.45 p.m. SYDNEY, May 7. Holland, W well-known Socialist, found guiltyjof using seditious language and inciting to resist the police afc Broken Hill, was sentenced to two years imprisonment. Received May 7, 9 p.m. SYDNEY, May 7. The Judge, in sentencing Holland, said: —"You are guilty of a very grave offence, and committed at a time when matters were exceptionally grave. You are possessed of an eloquent tongue, and ma*de the«worst possible use of it. inciting people to a state of rebellion. But for the coolness ani tact of th-3 police matters might havo been much worse."
