STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., re port as follows on their fortnightly sale at their Masterton yards yesterday:—We offered a very good catalogue of sheep and cattle. All sheep offered met with a ready sale. Cattle were well represented, coming forward much in excess of advertised numbers. We quote as follows: Iwo, four, six and eighttooth ewes, lis 3d to lis Cd, in lamb to Romney and Lincoln rams: wethers, 8s lOd to 10s; and also 10s lOd; f.m. ewes, 7s 6d to 8s sd. Cattle: Fat cows, £4 good forward cows, £3 Is. i J igs: Weaners, 8s 6d to 9s 3d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on yesterday's sale:—We penned a fair number of sheep of all classes except wethers, being represented, A better tone prevailed throughout, and we were enabled lo make a total clearance In cattle we had a heavy yarding, the bulk of the entries being steers. Beef wad well represented. The qualify all through was mostly good, this fact added to the demand for useful cattle We cleared everything but one line of old cows. Best ewes in lamb made 10s 6d to 10s 9d: medium sorts, 7s to 8s; fat ewes 8s to da; empty ewes, according to quality, 5s to 8s 6d; extra good lambs, 8s 9d; meduim, 7s 6d; culls, 4s. In , beef some prime oxen made £8 7s; fat cows, heavy, .£4; medium, £3 to £3 10s; fat heifers, £3 to £4; forward bullncks, £5 16s; good store?, £5 3s to £5 10s; 2£-year steers, £3 18s to.£4 ss; 2-yeai' steers, 60s; I 18-month, 47s 6d. In pigs stores 18s; good weaners, 10s.
