(From Our Own Correspondent.) TINUI, May 3. The friends of Mr and Mrs D. H. Speedy, of Flag Creek, will regret to hear that their daughter, Maud, is seriously ill, and two other members of the family are also unwell. The much talked of Amy Bock lived at Tinui several years ago. A general meeting of the Tinui Football Club was held on Saturday evening last. Mr A. T. Hancock presided over a full attendance of members. Mr Bert Stillborn, an old Tinui player, was elected vicecaptain. Messrs Chas. Richardson, of Waite Whiti station, E. Collerton, and Innes, of Te Mai, were appointed referees. A letter was read from Mr Maunsell, of Tinui, offering a challenge cup for competition this Heason. The following are the conditions attached to the competition : —That the district boundaries be Annadale, Mataikona, Carswells, and Homewood; the cup to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals. Mr Page, who was present, kindly offered two gold medals for the best forward and back, respectively, showing most improved form during the season. Mr Page also stated that he had received frotu Messrs Levin and Cu. a silver cup for club competition. It was decided to hold a scratch match of nine aside on the 15th inst, Maungapakeha v. Whareama, Mr Chas. Richardson to be referee. A hearty vote of thanks, on the m otson of Mr S. Schofield, seconded bv Mr Bert Stillborn, was passed to the donors of trophies.
