RICH BOTTLE GATHERER.

By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 3. A man named John Whitford, supposed to be about 50 years of age, was found sitting dead in an outbuilding in Walker Street yesterday morniag. The deceased was wellknown as a .bottle gatherer, and when his clothes were searched, bank deposit receipts for £1,300 were found in them. Whitford, who had been a sufferer from heart disease, -is not known to have any relatives in New Zealand.
