DETERMINED SUICIDE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBORNE, May 1. A man named John-Watkin, who was committed yesterday t,j the Auckland Mental Hospital, jumped overboard from the steamer Tuatea. The constable irf attendance grabbed him by the leg as he jumped over the rail, but was unable to hold him. He dropped into the water, and was not seen again.
