NATAL RAILWAY STRIKE.
AN ULTIMATUM. DURBAN, April 30. The Natal Government has issued an ultimatum to the strikers on State railways, stating that they will be dismissed and forfeit all privileges unless they return to work on Monday.
STRIKERS* DEMANDS. Received May 2, 4.30 p.m. DURBA'N, May 1. The Natal strikers have submitted preposterous minimum demands dictating the rates of pay and working hours, and demanding the abolition of piece work. The Government intend to adhere to their ultimatum. Many individuals, disgusted at the tactics of the strike leaders, are returning to work.
