WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board wa- .eld on Thursday, the members present being:—Mr James Mackenzie (Commissioner of Crown Lands) and Messrs a. Reese, Joseph Dawson and C. J. Canton. -\\y&j following transfers were ap proved:—Section 31, block 11, Hautapu, from S. S. Haigh to M. J. Haigh; section 2, block 11, Kaitieke, from 0. Voss, to 0. H. and P. W. Voss (subject to ranger's report being satisfactory); sections 49 and 64, Pahiatua Village Settlement from A. ; Wheatley to V. Redmond; section 39 v Mangaweka Village Settlement from J. Harrison to F. Heerdegan (subject to necessary conditions being complied with); section 9 block "6, Hautapu, from F. S. (Joodbehere to P. J. Hurdley; sections 48, 67 and 68, block 15, Rangitoto, from I. Keith to J. Evans; section 1, block 11, r\etaruke, from J. P. Punch to ; S. Lacy (subject to ranger's report being satisfactory); section 43, b\.,?,k 7, Tararua executors of Taf* and Valentine to J. and M. Valentine; section 23, block 12, Belmont, from V. George to H. G. George; section 23, block 13, Belmont, fro.n . ri. Flight to J. Coatley; sections 17, 19, 20 and 21. Makuri Village Settlement, from A. E. Corbin to L. S. Polglase; section 594, block 165, from A. E. Corbin to L. S. Polglase; sections 1 and 6, Tararua, from R. .J. Thompson to S. H. Baker.
An application from James Loney to transfer section 25, block 5, Mt. Cerberus to Mr A. A. Hutchings was declined, Mr Hutching apparently being ineligible through being the lessee of two other sections which do not join. H. Leach.applied to transfer section 10, block 11, Puketoi, to Edward Jewitt.--The application was declined, as Mr Jewitt appeared to be the same person who already held two leases which did not adjoin this section and was therefore not eligible as a transferee. W. Mc A. Duncan applied to transfer section 33, 10 and 11, Tniraukawa id I. A. Duncan.—Consideration postponed until it was ascertained what other land Mr T. A. Duncan holds or owns. A. Jones applied to transfer section 6a, block 11, Mt. Cerberus, to T. A. Yeoman.—Transfer to be allowed to proceed on condition that half the proceeds after payment of all charges will be earmarked for the benefit of the children to the satisfaction of the Commissioner. A report was received from the Crown Lands ranger as to the disposal of-part section 21, block 2, Tiffin (Carrington Settlement) of which Mr Bishop, junr., had declined a temporary lease. It was decided to recommend that it be added to the other portion of the section, making the total area 102 acres 3 roods 25 perches, and offered at the origina rental. ,
A recommendation is to be made that sections 3 ai.d 4, block 6, Tiffin (Carrington Settlement) be withdrawn from lease with a view of their being reoffered at the present rentals, but grouped as one lot. A. T. Smith, lessee of section 50, block 1, Mangaone, applied to be allowed to reside on the adjoining railway reserve until he was able to get enough money together to build on his section. —Agreed to in the meantime.
Permission was given Miss P. A. Narhey, lessse of section 54, block 1, Mangaone, not to reside on her section for the present on the understanding that she takes up her permanent residence on the section within the next twelve-months. It was decided to recommend that a temporary license be granted to F. H. White, to occupy lots 13 and 14. Langdale Township, from year to year at the present annual rental, subject to three months notice; a right-of-way to be reserved through sections ]fe and 14 for the use of the lessee of the adjoining section 3, block 3, Rewa.
J. R. White, lessee of sections 9 and 10, Langdale Township, applied to forfeit in favour of , his brother, F. H. WJnte. Section forfeited, recommendation to be made when the allotments revert to the Crown it be allotted to Mr F. 11. White without competition. Titles to the undermentioned land were granted subject to the usual conditions:—-Section 8, block 13, Mangahao, Mrs M. Hall; sections 13 and 14, block 3, Tiriraukawa, S. P. S. Whitton. Mr J. B. Smith was appointed as appraiser to value sections 11 and 21, blocks 5 and 9, Huangarua (Tawaha Settlement), for the purpose of conversion of tenure to renewable lease.
