GENERAL LABOURERS' DISPUTE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. The general labourers' dispute was again before the Conciliation Council to-day. A deadlock wa3 reached this morning in regard to the payment of unskilled labourers employers offering Is and the Union representative demanding the minimum of Is lid. Private conference was held during the afternoon, when most of the points in the dispute were settled. The award made on Saturday. At the close of! the conferenceJMr J. JR. Triggs, Conciliation Commissioner, was heartily thanked foVthe manner in which he had negotiations lead to t sucha satisiactory[ending.
