"THE MERRY WIDOW."

Box plans for next Monday's performance of "The Merry Widow," by Mr J. C. Williamson's Royal Comic Opera Company were opened yesterday morning at Miss Rives', when a large number of seats were booKed. The management emphasies the fact that the company presenting this work in N<nv Zealand is even stronger than that which was responsible for its representation in Australia, where it established suih remarkable records all along the line. Even suspassing by far the plamy days of "Floradora," "The Geisha," and other memorable successes. But it is said to be infinitely superior to these from a musical standpoint. There is said to be a welcome absence of cheap rag-time music-hally tunes but these can readily be dispensed with to make room for the truly delitjhful musical numbers with which the "Merry Widow" is freeely studdied, for in truth the public has rather wearied of them of late. The play is said to be staged in a manner equal to the very best traditions of Mr Williamson's most sumptuous methods.
