THE DOMINION'S EXPORTS.
It is plain that in order to preserve the balance of safety the people of the Dominion must reduce the scale on which they have been buying abroad. If the imports for the year show a very much larger decrease than that which has been disclosed by the export figures, the Dominion will have reason to congratulate itself, for the fact must be realised, says the "Southland Times," that our buying power is several millions per annum less than it was two years ago, and if, in spite of this reduction, we are buying at the same rate, then we are plainly buying beyond our means.
