; (From Our Resident Reporter). Wednesday. The friends of Mrs J. C. Cooper will be pleased to learn that she has sufficiently recovered from her recent illness as to be brought back to her home at Tane. Mr Cooper, who is to visit the Auckland district shortly to deliver addresses on behalf of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, intends to take Mrs Cooper with him, where it is to be hopnd the chanee of climate will bring Mrs Cooper back to robust health. The value of the rateable area in the Pa'aiatua Borough is £98,000 while there is property estimated at £IO,OOO, on which public buildings, etc., are erected, and from which no rales are collected. A farmer at Konini, who did not comply with a notice from the Inspector to clear his land of ragwort, was fined 20s and costs at the local Court on Tuesday. For exposing liceeffected sheep for sale at the local yards two farmers were fined a similar amount and costs. The second run of the Woodlands Hunt Club was held at Hamua, this afternoon. The . day was fine, but several of the members were unable to attend. One ot the horses came to grief at a fence, hut the rider escaped injury. The next run will be held at Woodville.
