PERSONAL.
Mr H. Simmunds' place in the Carterton Post Office is to be taken by Mr Shuartz, frorp Clinton, Invercar;gill. Mr Simmonds will leave for -Kimbolton on Thursday. Mr H. Lett an erstwhile resident' of Masterton, and now of "Greenside" farm, Marton, is at present on a visit t3 this town. Mr Thos. McGinnity, of the "W.F.C.A. boot department, who has obtained six months' leave of absence in view of his approaching marriage in England, was on Saturday la3t made the recipient of a silver tea-set as a token of esteem. On Thursday next, Miss Jeannie Whyte will leave Carterton on a holiday visit extending over three 'months, to Sydney, writes our Carterton correspondent. For several years past, Miss Whyte has been employed at the Central Store, and on leaving on Saturday evening she was the recipient of a useful travelling rug from the employees, and a fountain pen from Mr F. Feist.
