One of the questions that should be early considered by the new Council is a reduction in the price of gas, and, believing as 1 do, that the time is now ripe for such action, Tshall gladly support, or move a proposal for that purpose; also, owing to the general depression—the effects of which we are all feeling more or less—l would strenuously oppose a general rate of more than twopence in the £ at least for the ensuing twelve months. I have to thank you for past support, and in asking you to cast your votes in my favour on the 28th insfc., I wish to say that your interests are mine also, and if again elected I shall continue to do my duty towards you without fear or favour. Yours faithfully, J. C. EWINGTON.
