FOOTBALL.
The Clareville College intend entering a team for the Third-class Championship of the Wairarapa Rugby Union. The Welch football fifteen and cricket eleven in Masterton, Wairarapa, and the Harraway cricket eleven in Green Island, Dunedin, are recalled by the challenge of seven, brothers named Williams, of Haverfordwest, sons of a former police superintendent;, to any other seven brothers in the United Kingdom to play a game of. Rugby football for £2OO and the championship, writes a London correspondent. The brothers are not only football players, but several have been exceptionally good on th« running patjh. In walking matches, as amateur boxers and at billiards, they could, it is said, \ challenge any team of seven brothers in the world. Their ages ranee from 22 to 43. The football challenge was accepted by the brothers Randall, of Llanelly; the brothers Phillips, of Maesycwmmer; the brothers Davies, of Lllandilo; and the brothers Williams, of Ammanford; all in South Wales; and by the brothers Hall, of Gloucester, and the brothers Marsh, of Newcastle-on-Tyne. No Scotch or Irish team has accepted. The Carterton team to play Red Stars, at Carterton, on Saturday next, is as follows•:—Mason, Underhili, F. Groube, Hall, Londen, N. McKenzie, Taylor, Hendersan, Barry, Brown, H. McKenzie, Blake, Bond, A. Thomas and Cadwallader.
