HOCKEY.

WAIRARAPA LADIES', ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Ladies' Association was held in the'Y.M.C.A. Rooms, last evening. Mr J. B. Rue occupied the chair, and there were delegates present from the Grey town, Ramblers, Huia, High School, Dalefield and Carterton Clubs. The annual balance sheet showed the Association to have a credit balance of £3 17s 9d. The report stated that the Association had had a very successful year. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr A. C. Major President, Mr W. C. Buchanan: Vice-presidents, Messrs J. Macara, J. B. Rue, W. H. Jackson, W. Barton, W. Moore, R. G. Welch, and Dr. Bey; Secretary, Mr B. Iveson; Treasurer, Mr J. B. Rue. Regret was expressed by the various delegates at Mr J. B. Rue. who has been secretary since the Association was formed, being unable to see his way to carry on the duties, and eulogistic reference was made to the able manner in which he had con< ducted the of the Association. It was decided to commence the Championship matches on May 6th. The following teams have entered for the Senior Championship;— Grey-, town, Huia, Ramblers, Masterton High School, Carterton. It was resolved to hold a Junior competition if suitable arrangements could be made, it having been notified that the following teams would probably compete: Ramblers, Masterton High School, Dalafield, Carterton and Carterton High School. If a Junior competition is not inaugurated Dalefield will play in the Senior division. It was resolved that the secretary draw up the fixtures for the season. The matter of obtaining a trophy for competition was discussed, and it was decided to leave the matter in abeyance for the present.

The W.F.C.A. A. and B teams held a practice match on the Showgrounds yesterday afternoon. A match was played on the Lansdowne ground, yesterday afternoon, between the Knox Seniors and Juniors, and was won by the former by 10 goals to 3.
