SUPPLIES EXCEED THE ESTIMATE. MR PATTEN EASING OPERATIONS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyrignt. Received April 22, 8.45 a.m. NEW. YORK, April 21. It is reported that the wheat reserves in the United States are two million bushels in excess of the estimate of Mr Wilson, Secretary for Agriculture. The possibility of Congress removing the duty has led Mr Patten to refrain from cornering July options as he cornered those of May. Prices are dropping for May deliveries. Yesterday the quotation was 122| cents.
THE ENGLISH MARKETS. WHEAT AT 50s THE QUARTER. Received April 22, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, April 21. In some of the English provincial markets wheat is selling at 50s a quarter. The price of bread generally is from 6£d to 7£d the four-pound loaf. The "Standard" reports that the wheat corner at Chicago is weakening. DROP IN PRICE IN LONDON. Received April 22, 10.55 p.m. LONDON, April 22, Wheat in London has dropped from sixpence to a shilling a quarter.
