On Wednesday last Miss Petersen, daughter of Mr P. A. Petersen, of Xaiparoro, was married to Mr W. Fulton, of Nireaha. A contemporary says Mrs G. P. . Donnelly, of Hastings, is now much "better after her recent very severe illness, and from present appearances her full recovery will not be long. At the Anglian Church, at Alf redton, Jon Wednesday last, Mr A. J. Gordon was married to Miss J. M. -Rutherford, daughter of Mr W. Rutherford, of Alfredton. A telegram was received in Masterton yesleiday evening from Waipukurau, announcing the death of Mrs Smith, wife of Mr J. Smith,_ mechanical engineer, and recently of Masterton. The deceased lady had suffered from an incurable disease -for some time past. Her remains are to be taken to Dunedin for interment. At St. Paul's Cathedral, Wellington, on Tuesday last, Dr. M. Holmes, son of Mr James Holmes, of Tiraumea, W3S married to Miss Elsie Beatrice Rawson, daughter of Mr H. P. Rawson, of Wellington. Misses Alice Rawson, Maggie Simpson, Keitha Leatham and . Isabel Wilford, •were the bridesemaids. Mr Colin Holmes was best man, and Major Lascelles, Dr. J. M-. Bell and Mr J. Cnmpbull, were groomsmen. Constahle McGregor, of the local police force, who has been transferred to Christchuroh, will leave for toat town this morning. It is about three months since Constable McGregor succeeded Constable Doyle, in Masterton, and during the time he has been stationed here has proved himself an able and painstaking official, and he will carry with him the good wishes of a wide circle of friends. He is succeeded in Masterton by Constable Anderson, of Gisborne.

Miss K. Bramwell, second daughter of Mr Bramwell, of Wellington, was married on Wednesday last, at Wellington, to Mr E. Eagle, fourth son of Mr H. Eagle, of Feilding, and formerly of Carterton. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Kev. Father O'Shea. Mr and Mrs Eagle were met at the Masterton railway station by a number of Masterton friends and subsequently entertained at a k tchen tea at the residence of Mr F. Donovan, Bannister street. A pretty weddine was celebrated at St Patrick's Church, Masterton, yesterday, when Mr John Weekes ManneJl, of Masterton, son of Mr J. Mannell, of England, was married to Miss Kate Doguia, daughter of Mr James Doggin, of Hamua. The ceremony was pei formed by Rev. Father Saunderson. Mr Thomas R. Mannell, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Miss Nellie O'Leary was bridesmaid. The wedding presents received were numerous, and of a valuable nature, testifying to the popularity of the couple. Mr and Mrs Mannell left by the afternoon train for Wellington, carrying with them the congratulations of their many friends.
