CARSWELLS v. TENUI. (From Our Own Correspondent). TENUJ, April 19. The last cricket match of the season was played on the 17th between Carswells and Tenui ar,d was won by the latter, only one innings being played. The day was an ideal one for cricket. For the losers, Reeevs made 30 runs, which were compiled by sound cricket. This piayei did not give a chance, but was eventually clean bowled by Sharp. When the Tenui team went to the wicketb, it appeared as if the game would be all over in a quarter of an hour, as a complete "rot" set in and five wickets were down for six runs. Then came the best partnership of the season. O'Donoughou and S. Schofield stayed in for one hour and a half. The former gave a brilliant display of cricket, punishing all the bowlers severely and giving no chances, being eventually clean bowled by Leach. Schofkld gave a good exhibition, of stonewalling. These two players won the match for Tenui. The following were the scores:— CARSWELLS. Bennett, c McDonald, b O'Donoughou 1 Reeves, b Sharp 30 Leach, c Sharp, b McDonald 6 Munro, c E.
