WELLINGTON RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 21. The weather early this morning was threatening for the first day of the Wellington Racing Club's meeting. The attendance was fair. As the meeting advanced light rain fell, accompanied by strong wind. The course was somewhat heavy. The totalisator investments amounted to £11,538. against £11,464 for the corresponding day last year. Bookmakers' fees amounted to £362. The following were the results:— - First Hurdle Handicap, 1£ miles. —J. H. Prosser's Exmoor, 11.2, Cairns 1; Whatakura 9.11, 2; Kairoma, 10.1, 3. Also startedAoranei, Eurus, Paparaehi, Narcotic. Won easily by four lengths. Time, 3min 19 l-ssec. Waiwetu Handicap, 7 furlongs—o. E. Austin's Toa Tuhi, 6.12, Lambess, 1; Martyrium, 8.3, 2; San Fernando, 7.11, 3. Also started— Maiora, Probability, First Mate, Whistlecraft, Moscow, Won by a short necks Time, Imin 34sec. Silverstream Handicap, 7 furlongs. —G. D. Greenwood's Miss Mischief 9.3, Donovan, 1; Vinco 6.10, 2; Black Pearl, 6.7, 3. Also started— Waiwareware, Togo. Miss Mischief led all the way, and won by three lengths. Time, lmin 31sec.
