The friends of Mrs Stockley-Jones, will regret to hear that she is lying serioualy ill in the Masterton Hospital, ! and her condition is causing her relatives considerable anxiety. Mr Henry Simmonds, of the Carterton Post Office staff, has received notice of his transfer to KimbV)lton, and he will leave- at the end of the week, writes our Carterton correspondent Constable McGregor, a very capable and popular official' of the Masterton Police Force, has received notice that he is to be transferred to Christchurch, and will leave for that place to-morrow. Many will regret to learn that Mr Alfred Hill, the talented musician, composer, and conductor, who has been seriously ill for some four months past, is now in such serious condition that the worst is feared. Mr Hill, who has been operated on twice for empyema, suffered an attack of hemorrhage on Saturday. 0»i Sunday night, it was feared that he would not last through the night, and the family were summoned to the private hospital in which he lies. He rallied slightly on Monday last, and there is still faint hope that he may yet pull through.
