A CHRISTCHURCH SENSATION.
ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 15. James Orr, a wharf labourer, went for a holiday to the Port with his sweetheart yesterday. He evidently quarrellecT,with her, for, on returning to the city in the evening, he created a disturbance at the girl's home, in Falsgrave Street, a constable was called in. On seeing the constable, Orr put a revolver to his temple and fired. His condition is critical. It is said that Orr tried to shoot the girl three times, but the weapon missed fire. DEATH OF ORR. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 15. Orr, the principal in the Falsgrave Street tragedy last night, died of self-inflicted injuries to-day. He never regained consciousness.
