SETTLEMENT OF UNOCCUPIED NATIVE LANDS.

A large number of Maoris are assembled at Huntley, the object of the meeting being to facilitate the settlement of unoccupied native lands under the Provisions of the new Act, by which one-third remains in the possession of the natives, one-third is leased, and one-third sold. "King" Mahuta and Mr Henare Kaihau are leaders of the movement. Mr Ngata and Dr. Buck., M.'sP., will arrive tomorrow, and the business of the meeting will not commence till then.
