scores OF COSTLY BUILDINGS DESTROYED. HUNDREDS OF PERSONS HOMELESS. MILITIA CALLED OUT TO PREVENT LOOTING. Received April 15, 8.5 a.m. NEW YORK, April 14. Two fires have occurred in Rochester, New York Slate. Scores of costly buildings, including churches, have been consumed, the damage done being estimated at a million dollars {£200,000). Hundreds of persons are homeless. The militia has been called out to prevent looting.
