Giddings, of Masteffton, received news of the death (of Bis mother, at her residence Great Trowle Farm, Brad ford-on-Avon, IPbe had been in indifferent ihe<h for eighteen months past. Mr H. Cork, who foas been transferred to the charge of the Pose Office at Levin, accompanied by his wife and family, left Masterton by the mail train yesterday afternoon, carrying with tfeem 'the many good wishes of their friends for their future welfare. The death occuasrefl-at the Auckland Hospital on Tuesday night last of Mrs Young, wife of Mr James Young, formerly of Masterton. The deceased, who was a sister *>f f Mrs de Castro, of Masterton, was of i. bright and cheerful disposition, and vwas very popular amongst her friende, who will learn with sincere regret of her death. The late Mrs Young w«b :about 24 years of age, and leaves a ihusband and two children to mourn their loss. The relatives will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral will take place at Auckland to-jday. A West of England spaper records the death at Broadc&yat, Exeter, of the late Mr Samuel N. White, an old New Zealand cokndet. He emigrated to Australia with his parent.3 when a little boy, and his parents lie buried at Blackbridge cemetery, [Lower Hutt.
