KOPUARANGA SPORTS CLUB.
TWELFTH ANNUAL GATHERING. HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL MEETING.' (Special Reporter). The twelfth annual sports meeting of the Kopuaranga Sports Club was held at Kopuaranga yesterday. The weather was perfect for a day's outing, and the attendance was large in consequence. The events were all run off without a hitch and much credit is due to the capable Secretary, Mr G. A. Donovan, and also to j the other officials who were untiring in their efforts to promote the success of the gathering-. The chief athletic item, the Kopuaranga Handicap (100 yards, 220 yards, 440 yards and 880 yards) fell to A. E. Wilton, who succeeded in annexing the first three events. The sawing and chopping evenets were not held owing to the small number of entries received.] A'large number of hurses turned out in the horse events, the principal feature of which was the Hunters' Competition, which was won by J. Hanley's Spot. This horse jumped faultlessly and well deserved his winjj The Masterton South Band rendered a number ot selections during the day. Following were the results:— • \
