11/FOVED by Councillor Langdon, JAJL seconded by Councillor Richardson, That in pursuance and exercise of the powars vested in it in that behalf under the prov'bions of Section 3 of "The River Boards Act Amendment Act, 1891," the Castlepoint River Board hereby resolves as follows:—That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a ioan of £7OO, authorised to be raised by the Castlepoint River Board under the provisions of the "Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901," for the purpose of preventing the over flow* of the Whareama River, between sections 794, Block VIII, and Section 257, Block XVI, Mangapakeha, Survey District, the Castlepoint River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of (fd) three farthings in the pound upon the unimproved rateable valuation of all rateable property comprised within the following boundaries, that is to say:—Commencing at the northwest comer of Section 828, Block 111., Mangapakeha Survey District and proceeding south bounded by Sections 827, 828, 397 to the south-west corner of Section 398, thence by a straight line running i through Sections 179, Block 111, 176. 400, and 404, Btocl? VII., to the point of intersection of the southern boundary of the lastmentioned section with the Whareama River, thence proceeding southwards by the said river and by the f Makirik'iri Stream to the north-west corner of section 190, Block VII, thence by section 816, to the southernmost corner of said Section 3 90, I thence proceeding in a suutherly direction by a straight line parallel . with the south boundary of said Section 816 to its western boundary thence procesding in a northerly, direction by the said last mentioned boundary to the north boundary of Section 391, Block XL thence by Section 390, Block VII. and again proceeding south by a straight line drawn from the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned Sectfon through said Section 391 to the northwest corner of Section 404, Block XI, thence by the last-men-tioned Section to its south-eastern corner., thence proceeding south by ! a straight line ti tie nortn-easc corner of Section 281, Block XI. J thtnee proceeding easterly by a straight line to a point on the Whareama River, opposite to the south buundary of Section 494, Block XII, thence proceeding north by the Whareama River, and by Flag Creek to the crossing of the Tiuui-Alfred- , ton Road, thence still proceeding | north by the said read to the south boundary of Section 124, Block XL, I thence by the said boundary to the l Whareama River, thence proceeding northerly by the said river and by Section 142, and 502, Block XII by Sections 503, 139, Block VIII to the Whareama River, thence proceeding north by the said river to Stilborn's Bridge on the Tinui-Alfredton Road, thenc Q . still proceeding norths by the said road to the Manawa Bridge at Grassendale, thence by the Whareama River to the south boundary of Section 115, Block IV, thence by the said boundary to a point opposite to and in a line with the westem boundary of Section 831 in the last-mentioned Block, thence by a straight line to the said last-mention-ed boundary/ thence by Sections BSI, 832, 834, 833, Block IV. and by Section 822, Block 111, all in the Mangapakeha Survey District to the point of commencement, and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable halfyearly on the first day of February and first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan being a period of 26 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
