EKETAHUNA STOCK S&LE REPORT.

The New Zealand Loan and Mer] cantile Agency Company, Ltd., report that at their fortnightly sale at Eketahuna last Thursday they had a fair average yarding in sheep of all classes, mostly ewes in lamb, the quality generally being only fair to medium. Bidding was not particularly brisk, a fact due to the unsettled state of the sheep market. However, vendors quite realised the general drop in price, and we were enabled to make a clearance. In cattle we penned some useful steers, forward cows and strong weaners, all of which found a ready market, although rates were somewhat lower

than at last sales. Breeding ewes 7s 6d to 9s, culls 2s 6dto s 5.-, lambs small 4s, medium 5s to 6s, 2-tooth wethers to 9s, liomney rams to 1 guinea, forward steers £4 10s, 2\ year steers 65s to 70;, 18 months steers 455. fat covrs 60s, forward cows 455, forward L?ifers 40s to 455, good weaners 16s.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. report having held their fortnightly sale at Eketahuna on Friday, Bth April. Entries came in, in excess of advertised numbers, but were very dull of sale. Most pens were passed under the hammer, but were sold afterwards privately. Sheep ware lower by 6d a head all round on last sale's values. Cattle sold at late rates. We quote: —2-tooth wethers 8s lOdto 9s 6d, f.m. ewes 6d to 9s 3d, lambs 6s 6d to 7s 6d.
