SYDNEY, April 7. A terrible tragedy is reported to have occurred at Marengo, a small township 240 miles south-west of Sydney. While a selector named Salons was quarrelling with his wife, a daughter, aged fitfee?, rusherl to her mother's assistance. She picked up a revolver, and, firing six shots into her father's head and body, killed him instantly. The girl has been arrested.
THE INQUEST. JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE. SYDNEY, April 8. At the inquest on Salom, the daughter who was arrested and charged with the murder deposed that her father threatened to kill her mother because she refused to take some medicine he wished to give her. He followed her out of the kitchen. Witness, shortly after hearing her mother scream for help, got a revolver, and found her father holding her mother by the throat. She thereupon shot her father. A verdict of justifiable homicide was returned. SYDNEY, April 9. The man Salom, who was shot by his daughter, resided for some years in New Zealand, returning to Sydney several months ago.
