Mr F. Harrison, of Upper Plain, left; yesterday on an extended holiday in various parts of New Zealand. The many Jtriends of Mrs Cashion, of Masterton, will be pleased to hear that she is making a satisfactory recovery from her recent illness, and expects to be able to leave the Hospital within the next few days. The "Otago Daily Times" states (says a Press Association message) that Mr J. R. Bartholomew, of Alexandra South, has been appointed a Stipendiary Magistrate. Mr J. J. Smith, a former resident of Masterton, and connected with the Wairarapa "Star" some twenty years ago, is at present on a visit to Masterton. Mr Smith is representing Messrs Arthur D. Kennedy and Co., Ltd.," Wellington. Mr G. S. Titheiadge, the veteran actor, who has been laid up in Auckland for two months, suffering from appendicitis, has (reports a Press Association telegram) sufficiently recovered to be able to get about again, jand left by the steamer Victoria for Sydney last night.
