INTER-UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE.
OXFORD WiNS BY THREE LENGTHS. Received April 4, 4.30 p.m. LONDON, April 3. The 66th Inter-'Varsity boat race to-day between and Cambridge resulted in a win for Oxford by three lengths. ; Received April 6, 12.20 a.m. LONDON, April 4. Cambridge winning the toss, chose the Surrey side of the river, and at Harrod's soap works had established a lead of half a lengh. Oxford came again, the boats snooting under Hammersmith Bridge on level terms. A "neck and neck" struggle for five minutes followed, ending in Oxford establishing a lead of half a length. R. C. Bourne, the Oxford strobe, made a grand spurt at Barnes' Bridge, and demonstrated that his crew were the better stayers, Cambridge being rowed out. D. C. Stuart, the Cambridge stroke, made a plucky but useless spurt. / Time, 19min 50sec. ' Oxtord has now won 35 races, and Cambridge 30, one having been a dead heat. Last year Cambridge won by two and a-quarter lengths. .
