MASTERTON NAVY LEAGUE.
It has beets arranged that on the last Thursday 01 the present month a lecture oh the British Navy and the object? of the Navy League shall be delivered to the scholars of the Mas-
tertou School. The lecture will be illustrated with lantern views of an interesting character, Dr. R. V. Hosking having kindly consented to be responsible for the views. The Executive of the SubBranch of the Navy League or some of its members are displaying laudable efforts to carry out the programme suggested by Lieutenant Knox, R.N., when he recently visited Masterton, but unfortunately other members do no.t take an equal interest in the work which really has as its object the maintenance of the Empire. We shall refer to this question again at an early date, when we hope to be successful in emphasising how great the potentialities of the Navy League are if its members are only sufficiently patriotic and enthusiastic to endeavour to develope them.
