OPAKI RIFLE CLUB.
The Opaki Rifle Club have completed their trophy shooting, after having had a very successful season. The Club Championships, the trophies for which consisted of the Shield and Walsh and Co.'s gold medal in the A class, and Mr D. McGregor's silver cup (to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals) and a gold medal in the B class, were won by Riflemen G. Hyde and F. Hood, respectively. Mr H. Williams' Rose Bowl for the highest aggregate in the 200, 500, and 600 yards' ranges for the season was won by Mr H. P. Perry. The silver tea and coffee service presented by Mr T. Maunsell for the highest aggregate for two seasons at the 800, 900, and 1,000 yards ranges was won. by Mr W. Wir.blade. In the competition for Mr W. G. Beard's matble clock, the follownie members have to fire off: —Messrs W. J. Welch, G. Hyde, Holmes, and J. Turnbull.
The following are the winners of the various trophies competed for daring the season: —A 'Class. —A, J. Cameron, Mr J. K. Blinkhorne's trophy; G. Hyde, Club trophy; H. Mawley, Messrs G. Hyde and- Co.'s trophy; R. J. King, Messrs, W. B. Chennells and Co.'s trophy; J. McKehzie, Messrs Krahagen and Chapman's trophy; W. Winslade, Mr D. McLachlan's trophy; W. J. Welch, Mr W. J. Henry's trophy. B Class. — H. P. Perry, Messrs King and Henry's trophy; R. Harding, Club trophy; F. Hood, Mr J. Whittaker's tropby; T. Evans, Club trophy; R. Harding, Mr D. McCalmout's trophy; H. P. Perry, Mr D. McCalmont's trophy; W. Hodges, Mr T. Longfellow's trophy. The following are the resulcs of the shooting at the 900 and 1,000 yards ranges:—
