FOOTBALL.
The annual meeting of the Saturday Football Club was held on Saturday evening last, writes our Carterton correspondent, Mr C. Reid presiding over a good attendance. The balance sheet showed a credit of £ll 15s sd. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: Patron, Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P.; President, Mr C. Reid; Vice-Presi-dents, Messrs.T. H. Hughes, A. Cadwallader, J. Fraser, W. Strang, P. Cole, W. M. Halley, R. Cooper, WJ Price and B. Wadham; Captain, Mr C. "Groube; Vice-Captain, Mr A, Cadwallader; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr J. Mi: Nicholls; Management and Macch Committee, the Captain, Vice-Captain, Secretary, and Messrs C. Keid and N. McKenzie; Delegates to Kugby Union, Messrs C. Reid, J. M. Nicholls and H. McKenzie; Auditors, Messrs H. Hall and L.- EL Smart. It was decided to open the season on Saturday with a practice, and to try and ) arrange a match with Konini for June 3rd, and also with Greytown, Gladstone and Masterton at dates to b<3 arranged. It was decided to enter a junior, senior, and if sufficient members are available a third-class team in the competition. The delegates to the Union were instructed to uphold the classification scheme. At a meeting of the Dalefipjd plub it was decided to enter two 'teams for the Saturday championship, one junior and one third-class. Mr W, Hart was re-elected secretary and captain.
