AN EXCITING SCENE.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 29. Cuba Street was the scene of an exciting arrest on Saturday night. A constable was attempting to arrest a drunken man, who resisted violently. The latter was encouraged by several in the crowd, which consisted of over three hundred people. After an exciting scene the inebriate and three others were arrested. They , were brought before the court today, and fines ranging from 5.2 to £5 inflicted for inciting the man to resist. One of the defendants was senj tenced to a month's imprisonment.
