(From Our Resident Reporter.) Friday. As a result of the move made by the Chamber of Commerce the hour of closing the afternoon mail for Wellington has been extended from 3.5 p.m. to 3.15. If this is found to work unsatisfactory, the old ordei of things will be reverted to. Arnongst the work authorised at the last meeting of the Education Board is the lowering of a floor in a , classroom at the local school. Ik the final match of the Handicap •Ladies' Singles on the Tararua Tennis Courts, last evening, Miss Scott, receive 2, defeated Miss Wolters, receiwe 6, by 40 —35. Three more games have to be played before the completion of the men s computiton.
