Mr George Wright, Dannevirke, •will sit on the Hawke's Bay Land Board as Government nominee. Dr.Earle. who resigns the position ef port medical officer at Wangamri ac uib end or tnis month, will be succeeded by Dr. J. M'Naughton Christie. Messrs E. W. Hunt and C. J. Salter (Wellington) and E. J. Harvey (Blenheim) have been appointed public auditors under the Friendly Societies Act. At the annual meeting of the Mastsrton Football Club last evening, special reference was made by a number of members to the excellent service the late Secretary (Mr D. E. Parton) had rendered the Club during his long term of office Besides having been a very capable Secretary, Mr Parton had rendered yeoman service in forwarding the interests of the Club, and his removal from the district had been a very severe Joss to the Club. At the annual meeting of the members of the Masterton Golf Club, yesterday afternoon, the Chairman, Mr Donald Donald made special reference to the splendid work performed during the past year by the energetic and popular Honorary Secretary, Mr C. C. Cox. He stated that no one could have carried out the secretarial duties' mjre ably than Mr Cox. At all times tiieir Secretary took a live and intelligent interest in the welfare of fie Club, and it was chiefly clue to hi=, efforts that the Club had made sjch solendid progress.
