A GRAVE ACT. HINDU MEMBER OF VICEROY'S COUNCIL. Received March 25, 9 a.m. CALCUTTA, March 24. It is officially reported that Sartyendra Prossarma Sinha, a barrister, succeeds Mr H. E. Richards, K.C.. as a member of the Earl of Minto's Council. "The commenting on the responsibility assumed by Viscount Morley (Secretary of Stats for India), in making the appointment, says it is the gravest act of State yet taken in regard to India, and expresses strong misgivingß in regard to the making of the departure unless Sinha is given a Mohammedan colleague.
