RACING.
The programme of the Marlborough Racing Club's Autumn Meeting, to be held at the Riverlands Racecourse, Blenheim, on May sth and 6th next, has been published. In addition to the Marlborough Cup, of 200 sovs, and Flying Handicap, of 100 sovs, there is an open Welter Handicap, of 80 sovs, on the first day, the programme ot which is filled up with four hack races of from 60 to 70 sovs, ai;d a Hack Hurdle Race, of 60 £ovs. '[he second day's races consist of i three open races, one Hack Hurdle, j end four hack races—one for gentlemen riders only. The programme is j a distinct advance on last year's proj gramme, and should draw excellent | nominations from this part of the ! Island. Nominations will close for ! all races with the Secretary, Mr I Griffiths, on Saturday, April 17th. jMr Angus Keith has been appointed i starter in place of Mr Geo. Lane, j who acted at last meeting, but has I now resigned. During the last six i months the Marlborough Racing Club have effected further improvements to the Course, which is now one of the best in New Zealand.
