FOOTBALL.
RETURN OF "THE WALLABIES." By Telegraph—Press Association. Received March 24, 10.5 a.m. SYDNEY, March 24. The Australian amateur /Rugby team ("the Walalbies") have returned. They were welcomed by a big crowd. A meeting of the Te Ore Ore football Club will be held on Saturday evening, at 8 o'clock, in the Masterton South Band shed. Such well-known 'players as Dug. Thompson, Sid. Mason, E. Mason, Frank Johnston and probably Cadwallader, will play for ' Gladstone Seniors this season. All of these players were in the champion Carterton Seniors last year. However, Carterton have a number of smart juniors to fill up the gaps caused by the loss of the players mentioned. Carterton will also have a good junior team. There is every prospect of the Red Star Club, runers-up, in the Senior Championship last year, and who won the Junior and Third-class Championships, having a successful season. A large number of new members (honorary and .playing) have been "oßtained, and three strong teams should be able to take the field. It is stated that the newly-formed Gladstone Club will enter a strong Senior There are a number of very promising young players amongst the members, and with the experienced players previously mentioned should put up a good fight in the Senior competition. The annual meeting of the Masterton Club will beheld in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, at 8 o'clock, tomorrow night. All members and intending members are requested to be present.
