NEW ZEALAND HOLIDAYS.
The great majority of holidaymakers from the towns go to places near their own homes from motives of economy, and there are hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders who know of the beauty spots of their own land only by heresay. Mr T. McKenzie i 3 now considering the question of bringing the cost of the recognised tour 3 within the financial range of the average New Zealander, says the "Lyttelton Times." When his plans are complete we shall have cheap trips to the West Coast Sounds and the Southern lakes, to Rotorua, and to the other attractive districts of the North Island. Already he has arranged for a cheap trip to the Sounds at Easter time, and we have no doubt that the success of this experiment will more than justify his expectations. The new policy is an application of the doctrine of "New Zealand for the New Zealanders," which will win the warm approval of the people, and we hope that Mr Mackenzie wili continue in the good work he has undertaken with undiminished zeal and enthusiasm.
