POSTMEN CEASE WORK.
FAMINE THREATENED. Received March 19, 10.31 p.m. PARIS, March 19. Eight thousand postmen have joined the Paris strikers. There are five million letters and 275,000 telegrams undelivered'.
If the strike continues a famine of eggs, butter and milk is threatened, owing to the non-arrival of remittances of money. Marconi is negotiating for a wireless service between London and Paris, to deal with 10,000 words daily. Business already is in utter confusion.
